getting into the spirit

charlie loves all the ornaments we find all over town.
these christmas trees are scattered all over the phoenix (where the spa is). they're beautiful

my precious boy during one of our many pool days with tt and papa and auntie
i am loving how much this child is into the decorations this year

now that the holidays are here... i'm trying to shift into gear. this is the craziest time of year for us. not only is it the holidays, but also our busiest time for tourism. so, the spa will be fully booked and oliver is already fully booked from mid december to beginning of january. it's funny how it'll be our first taste of some solid business in a couple months and it just so happens to be thee busiest for the entire year. it's great. really. a little mad, but great. i LOVE being busy in my life. i function well. all my multi-tasking skills come out in all their glory.
one thing that will be difficult to juggle is the pull on the heart strings when i'm working a bunch. i miss my boy when i'm at work. although i need it and it is something i fully enjoy, any time spent away from my boy is hard. it's a good thing i love what i do. i am grateful every day for my "job" and that i have always done what i am truly passionate about... fabulous.
each year allows us to reach deeper into our own traditions. we have a little christmas tree that we put up. it's so cute and has meaningful ornaments we place ever so slightly apart. each of us talks about the meaning as we hang them. i'm having one made for charlie, too. so that when he's big enough, he can talk about it too. when i first started having christmas with my little family, i was at a loss. i didn't know what to celebrate, what traditions to carry on from my own family and what kinds of presents i would buy for the kids. we've enjoyed, each year, creating more and more of our own. we now have stuart family christmas stories. so much of what we do is what the tengler family christmas did (and still do, i'm sure). as we evolve, i smile, and realize how far we've come. our little charlie is helping us create more and more. looking so forward to christmas this year.
