off they go now...

i cannot believe jordan and jomar are graduated from primary school. because of tropical storm alex, their ceremony was postponed until the 3rd of july. it was so wonderful to watch them celebrate with their classmates... kids that have been with them for 10 years. they are a family now and will rely on each other when they get to high school. it's sweet. the school they attended for all those years was really good at creating lasting relationships among the students and the teachers. small classes allowed for that to happen more easily as well.

it seems like just yesterday they were asking me how to tell time, how to get to school from home and back. they know the answers to these questions now and are currently asking the bigger, deeper questions like "who am i and what do i want to be?" i love watching them grow into young men. they really are incredible kids, oops, sorry, young men.

i have been with them for over nine years now and i can't even imagine my life without them in it. they have and continue to add such light to my life. sure, they've also been part of my more challenging days... but that's part of the deal. the good and the bad. i'm a better person because of it, we're all better. and even though i may not remind them all the time how proud i am of them, i am. they are two of the most respectful, wonderful boys i've ever met. their little brother feels the same. and i know their dad does too.
