now that his eyes are clearing up... oli and i are able to see more clearly. hmmmm. we have learned a lot this week, and will continue to do so, no doubt. i'm so glad charlie is looking better. he never seemed to be too bothered, except for in the middle of the night when his eyes would stick together because of goopy-ness. i know that an eye infection is no big deal. i am so grateful that he has been a healthy boy. i take none of it for granted. i see so many mamas and papas going through much, much worse and i squeeze my boy everyday (quite a few times) reminding myself how very lucky we are.

besides an eye infection... i've been thinking a lot about my brave grandma crane. she is going through radiation at the moment for a brain tumor. she is so strong and positive. i know that some days are down and some up, but she is amazing. i so wish i was in utah to help and offer support, but i am from afar.
i visit www.goop.com often. it's gwenyth paltrow's website where she offers all kinds of fun suggestions... including books. there is one that made me think of all the people helping my grandma, especially my mom and dad.
the book is by, marcy silverman and it's called "Do Good: 201 Ways to Lend a Hand"

so mom, dad, i'm thinking about you and sending you strength to pass on to grandma. i love you guys.

Sending lots of love to your Grandma. Boo for Charlie and a goopey eye. Glad he's better. Yeah, parenthood has a way of pulling a partnership through some real muck. Eric and I have been bickering lately and something so much bigger than us has landed on our plate. A family member just passed, and another is passing. Today we hugged tight and promised to be nicer to each other. That's all that matters.

I'm sorry about your grandma, Carrie.
I haven't been commenting so much lately, but know that I read your posts and love them. I love reading what you have to say and hearing the love and contentment you have with motherhood shining through. It really is the best, isn't it?
And on a totally random note...looking through your pics, I can't help but admire the shape of Charlie's head. :) Any tricks? The back of Liam's head is pretty flat. We do as much tummy time as possible (but he's not crazy about it) but sleeping time alone accounts for about 12 hours a day on his back! I have started putting him on his side for naps, but not for nighttime, because I'd prefer he not roll over to his stomach (he hasn't figured out how to roll from front to back yet). Anyways, hopefully once he can sit and crawl and all that fun stuff, it will get a little more round - but I'm still open to suggestions! :)
